Delhi on high alert after Pahalgam terror attack

The police have intensified security across the city, focusing particularly on tourist hotspots and border checkpoints

New Delhi, April 24

Delhi Police has issued a high alert in the Capital following the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam . 

The police have intensified security across the city, focusing particularly on tourist hotspots and border checkpoints as police have been instructed to keep special watch on tourist spots. 

The local police, meanwhile, have been asked to remain on alert in high footfall areas like markets, railway stations, and airport. 

Delhi Police Special Cell’s SWAT commandos have been asked to be on alert to avert any terrorist or hostage-like situations in the capital.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said in a post on X, “Deeply anguished to learn about the terrorist attacks on tourists in Kashmir’s Pahalgam. My thoughts are with those who lost their close ones and prayers for the swift recovery of those injured. These cowardly, barbaric attacks will not go unanswered".
