The sharp shooter Shahbaz Qureshi (21) alias Shabbu of Jafrabad in Delhi.
DCP (North East) Sanjay Kumar Sain stated that after getting released from jail in Dec 20, he was aggressively reorganizing his gang and luring juveniles and youths to join crime.
According to technical inputs, watch mounted upon in the areas of North, Central and North East Delhi. Following a specific information on the arrival of Qureshi in the area, a trap was laid near Noor-E-Elahi petrol Pump. The police found him approaching the area at about 12:15 AM when he was trapped.
The police added that he abruptly whipped out his pistol and pointed it on police personnel and tried escape but the police didn’t gave him a chance and after a brief scuffle he was overpowered by the team and arrested. The police seized a sophisticated pistol loaded with five live cartridges from him.
The police booked him under the Arms Act.
The police added that during his interrogation he disclosed that he is a member of Irfan alias Chhenu gang.
Previously, Qureshi along with Anwar alias Hatela, Mumtaz alias Rashid, Waseem alias Fouzi, Rizwan, Shahrukh, Imran, Rashid alias Golu had shot Wajid and Faiz, when they were going on a scooty in the year of 2017 in Brahm Puri area in the area Jafrabad.
The police stated that Qureshi was earlier involved in three cases of Bhajanpura police station. His arrest has led to detections of three similar cases in Seelampur, Bhajanpura and Welcome.
