Delhi Police arrests a fraudster who duped senior citizens posing insurance agent

The Delhi Police arrested a man for allegedly cheating several senior citizens by posing as an insurance agent.
The police identified the accused as Priyesh Giri (26), who would pose as an insurance salesman to convince people, especially senior citizens, to transfer large sums of money to him in exchange for a fake insurance policy.
The police received a complaint from Gurmaith Kainth (74) that a man, claiming to be an agent from Policy Bazaar, visited her home to renew her health policy. Trusting him, she transferred Rs 95,000 to the account provided by him and later received an insurance policy via WhatsApp, purportedly from Aditya Birla, said police. She lter discovered that it was fake.
During investigation, police teams raided the residence of the accused but found that he had already vacated the premises. The police traced his residence but he had fled after which manual and technical surveillance was mounted leading to his arrest.
Thr accused confessed to his crime and stated that rhe had cheated more than five senior citizens in the past year and defrauded over 50 people in the last three months alone.
