Delhi Police Begins A New Initiative For Awareness Towards Economic Offences

The Economic Offenses Wing of Delhi Police has launched a special purpose vehicle named ' Prabodhini' to spread awareness towards economic offences among the citizens.

This special 'rath' has been designed in collaboration with the State Bank of India to connect with the citizens with more ease and smoothness.

The Delhi police officials states that this vehicle is equipped with all necessary and modern audio-visual aids. With the help of this awareness Rath, the officials will interavt with citizens at the malls, parks, colleges, schools and other public places to make people aware about the economic offences by providing them the latest information.

The EOW of the Delhi Police is a specialized agency to probe special investigation is done in cases of scams relating to banks, land, building, housing & ponzi schemes and other high value traditional and modern frauds and forgeries.  

The officials added that the factors of these crimes are identified by underlining the institutional deficiencies and the inadvertence of the investors / victims as revealed by the analysis of various cases and then these are shared at various forums for the benefit of the concerned interest groups.

With the help of 'Prabodhini', active communication will be established with the public at various places for imparting knowledge through short films, course material and mass interactions. 

The various economic offences will be explained in detail with regard to the preventive measures to be taken qua them. The questions and doubts of the people pertaining to these offences will also be addressed appropriately. 

The Delhi Police has also included the representatives of Reserve Bank of India, SEBI and other financial institutions in this campaign. This is a Special Initiative of Delhi Police for value based social consciousness and meaningful engagement with more and more people, officials added.
