SOUTH EAST DISTRICT
POLICE HELP DAUGHTER PERFORM LAST RITES OF FATHER
On 23.04.21, information was received at PS Govindpuri from Dr Hedgevar Hospital, Shahdara, Delhi that patient Ashok Kumar R/o Tuglaqabad Village Delhi, age 62 yrs was admitted in the hospital in unconscious condition. The patient was brought to the hospital by an unknown person. On 24.04.21, the patient died in the hospital and after autopsy, the dead body was preserved in the mortuary. On enquiry, it was revealed that the patient was working as a security guard in a residential society his own daughter admitted him in the hospital. After being traced, his daughter disclosed that her father was suffering from Tuberculosis. She admitted him in the hospital and left without giving proper details. She used to work as a house maid but due to lockdown she was out of work and money consequently. She had no money to perform the last funeral rites of her father. At this critical point, ASI Satyadev took the initiative and helped the family to perform the last funeral rites of the deceased. On 26.04.21, the staff took the dead body to Sarai Kale Khan Shamshan Ghat for its deliverance.
POLICE HELP IN CREMATION OF OLD BLIND BEGGER
On 20.04.2021, a PCR call regarding a male unidentified dead body lying at Gaffar Manjil main road, near children park, Jamia Nagar, New Delhi. The staff rushed to the spot and found one unknown male, age around 55 yrs lying unconscious. During this corona pandemic breakout, no single person from the society moved out to identify the unknown person. His photograph was sent to RWA president to establish his identity. Thereafter, it was found that his name was Hari Ram. He was blind fellow who used to beg in the locality for his survival. However, despite best efforts, complete credentials of the deceased couldn’t be found. The unconscious person was shifted to AIIMS hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. Thereafter, the body of deceased got preserved in the mortuary of AIIMS Hospital, Delhi. On 26.04.2021, post mortem of the deceased was conducted in the mortuary of AIIMS Hospital and his body was cremated in the Sarai Kale Khan Electric Crematorium, New Delhi by ASI Ramesh Chand and other staff of PS Jamia Nagar.
PROVIDED FOOD TO HUNGRY FAMILIES
During the current pandemic situation & ongoing lockdown, it is becoming difficult for poor people to survive, especially those who are hand to mouth & had to earn their bread & butter daily. On 26.04.2021, Insp. KP Malik/SHO/Jamia Nagar received a telephone call from someone regarding some families facing scarcity of food to feed themselves in Tauba Colony Jugggi area in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. Immediately, a team from PS Jamia Nagar led by SHO/Jamia Nagar reached the said jhuggi area and distributed 50 packets of dry ration.
LIVES OF 80 COVID PATIENTS SAVED BY ARRANGIN 25 OXYGEN CYLINDERS TO IBS HOSPITAL, LAJPAT NAGAR
On 26.04.2021 at around 6 am, information was received at PS Lajpat Nagar that there was a shortage of oxygen cylinders in IBS hospital and the available stock would last only for two hours. 80 Covid patients were under critical situation in the hospital. Immediately, the team of PS Lajpat Nagar arranged 25 D type oxygen cylinders from Palwal Haryana. Besides it, the regular supply of the oxygen for hospital was on the way from Surajpur, Greater Noida. A green corridor was provided by the team of PS Lajpat Nagar from Greater Noida to IBS Hospital. The team escorted oxygen cylinders providing free passage to ensure the timely supply of oxygen to the patients. With the remarkable effort of Delhi Police, the oxygen was made available well within time to save the life of 80 Covid patients at IBS Hospital. They thanked Delhi Police for their dedication towards welfare of the public.
OUTER NORTH DISTRICT
CREMATION OF OLD LADY DONE BY STAFF OF SAMAYPUR BADLI
Today a request was received from Swargnag from Millennium Appt. Sec-18 Rohini, Delhi that his maternal grand mother Smt. Geeta Ganguli Age-87 years was expired of natural cause and they don’t have sufficient male members in their family to fulfill her last rites. Accordingly, under the guidance and directions of senior officers of OND, ASI Vijay Kumar and HC Chetan of PS SP Badli were sent for all possible assistance. When the staff reached there it came to light that they were not having four male family members in their family to carry the body to cremation grounds even. Extending its humane gesture the above officials carried the dead body on their shoulders and got the cremation done at Sec-17, Rohini, Delhi. This is one of the many examples of police officials extending help to society in such pandemic conditions, without caring about their own lives.
GREEN CORIDOR MADE FOR OXYGEN TRUCK LEADING TOWARDS AIIMS
On 26.04.2021 an information was received at Police Station Alipur Delhi at 14:07 PM that a truck/container bearing number BJ-06BJ 4225, which was carrying oxygen 10000 Ltrs., was stuck on SINGHU BORDER and the same was scheduled to arrive at AIIMS HOSPITAL at the earliest due to lack of oxygen cylinders in Delhi Hospitals in present Covid-19 Scenario.
On receipt of this information SHO Alipur along with ERV staffs HC MADAN and available motorcycles on patrolling rushed to SINGHU Border without wasting a single minute and found the truck stuck due to some vehicles movements. Thereafter, The police staff showing their efficiency and presence of mind, cleared the way of the container and then successfully passed the container with safety. This prompt and swift action of police provided help saving hundreds of lives and brought smiles to the faces of family who were waiting for oxygen in AIIMS.
HEAD CONSTABLE DONATES BLOOD 39th TIME
HC Shankar, presently posted at PS Narela has become a hero for donating regular blood and plasma for many patients and covid patients during this pandemic situation all over Delhi. He has donated his plasma for covid patients three times since he became covid positive and recovered in the month of January this year. Till now he has donated blood and Platelets to required patients 39th times. Moreover, he along with his two friends namely Ravinder Dhariwal and Amit Phogat ( both are personnel in Delhi Police) has been running a ‘Delhi police Blood Donation Group’ on whatsapp and Tweeter and serving the needy people continuously. They have proved the Logo ‘Dil ki Police, Delhi Police’.
WEST DISTRICT
OXYGEN CYLINDER, MEDICINES PROVIDED TO NEEDY PATIENTS*
Information was received to SHO Rajouri Garden that a patient namely Sandeep Kumar Mehta Age 55 yrs resident of Tagore Garden, who was almost on death bed since his infection has reached to his lungs was running from pillar to post all over in Delhi NCR hospitals for admission in hospital but couldn’t able to succeed in securing any bed for him. By then his Spo2 Level has dropped down to below 70%. Immediately an oxygen cylinder, which was meant for Covid Care Centre Rajouri Garden for police personnel only had been provided to him to first stabilize his deteriorating condition. Then an ambulance was got arranged in the nick of time by coordinating with the administration of Kukreja Hospital, Rajouri Garden along with a bed. Now the patient is on the stage of recovery.
Further, information was received to SHO/Rajouri Garden that a patient namely Ravinder Uppal Age 72 yrs living alone along with her wife namely Sunita Uppal Age 70 yrs, being Senior Citizen residing at C5A 317-A, Janakpuri, New Delhi. That they are Covid positive along with the co-morbidity of highly diabetic. No one was present with them to extend any helping hand or to procure any immediate medicines. Immediately once the SOS was received from them the beat staff was directed to do the necessary correspondence with them. The lifesaving drugs & injections such as Inj Dexona 8 mg (once a day must in any condition) and Nebulization with levolin 1.2 mg + Budecort 0.5 mg (required in every 6 hours in any condition) was procured for them along with an oxygen cylinder, from the quota meant for police personnel. The same was timely administered to the patients by their family doctors. In this manner, the staff of PS Rajouri Garden acted timely and swiftly out of their jurisdiction for the welfare of our citizens.
One patient namely Shivam Gupta Age 30 yrs resident of 180, sector -16B near Maharaja Agarsen Chowk, Vasundhra Ghaziabad, U.P was in dire need of Remdesivir Injections since his oxygen level has stooped down to minimal level. The information was received through some channel on an emergency basis and acting on the humane ground immediately two such injections were procured and were delivered at his doorsteps at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pardesh in no time.
A person namely Abhay Patadia associated with Mobineers Info systems Pvt. Ltd, who is one of the project directors and played an instrumental role in developing an E beat Book project for Delhi Police was not getting the Remdesivir Injections for his ailing parents. Once the message for help was received from his end immediately the required medical help was provided to him by coordinating with the local medical suppliers.
Information was received from the Central Civil Service Association that one person namely Tejpal Singh age 54 yrs r/o FA 210 Second floor Tagore Garden New Delhi -27, who is the husband of an IAS Officer was under high fever and his oxygen level was fluctuating down every minute. Immediately the oxygen cylinder kept in the covid care center of PS Rajouri Garden was rushed to his house to secure first his Spo2 level, then proving the essential medicines. Timely help resulted in the saving of precious human life on one hand and the other humane face of Delhi Police.
One person namely Raghbir Singh Sokhi r/o 254-A, MIG Flats, Rajouri Garden age 81 yrs, who is the father of Mr. Jagmohan Sokhi, Air India pilot. Since his son is running outstation on duty and no one was there to help him out. An SOS was received in the eleventh hour of his depleting health condition. Then immediately the local police staff procured the oxygen cylinder from the Covid care center set up by police and delivered it to his home in no time thus managed to save his precious life.
EAST DISTRICT
Today liquid oxygen in Metro Hospital remained for 1 hour only in the area of P.S Preet Vihar. On contacting the SEM it came to notice that there was a long queue in Salasar and Mundka supply plants and some technical issues also developed in these plants.
The oxygen supply reached hospitals after strenuous efforts in the nick of time.
Continuous shortage of oxygen is being faced by the two hospitals situated in the area namely Makkad hospital and Life Line hospital in the area of Laxmi Nagar.
One nodal officer is deputed from Police Station, who is continuously in touch with Hospitals. One Special Executive Magistrate Sh. Vinod Kumar Singh, who is nodal officer from GNCT, is also coordinating with the supplying agencies. Continuous efforts are being made to bridge the gap in the supply of oxygen to these hospitals.
Today a call was received from Kukreja Hospital that the oxygen is to finish within an hour and 20 patients are on oxygen was received in P.S Pandav Nagar. On this SHO reached Kukreja Hospital and contacted Mr.Deepak, Manager who told that their van is in the queue at Multan Air Products, Sector-2, Bawana, Delhi and the van is at S.No.19 in the queue whereas S.No.10 is being filled at the above said plant. Then Nodal Officer was contacted for Oxygen Supply, who managed two cylinders of Oxygen. Then after 3-4 hours again there was a shortage of oxygen at the same hospital. This time two cylinders of oxygen were also arranged for the hospital through HC Suneet Kumar.
NORTH DISTRICT
POLICE DOES CREMATION OF PATIENT BODY
One distress call received in Civil Lines at around 7:15 AM on 27.04.2021 in which the caller from Khaiber Pass, Delhi informed that an old age couple are living alone in their neighbourhood. Both were suffering from COVID-19. Today, in the early morning the husband Rajinder S/o Raghuvir Singh, 72 yrs has expired and there is no one to do the last ritual of the deceased. SI Ram Niwas along with Ct Jitender reached the spot and met Suman Bala, 70 yrs. She informed that his husband Rajinder, 72 was specially abled and both of them were suffering from COVID-19. She further informed they were living alone as they do not have any children. She asked for help of police as no one in neighbour is coming forward to her in the last ritual of his husband. SI Ram Niwas arranged a private Ambulance and shifted the dead body to the Cremation centre at Nigam Bodh Ghat and did the last rituals.
A PCR call was received in PS Burari at around 9:00 AM, in which the caller from Shakti Enclave, Burari informed that his mother father has expired in the night and need police help to perform last rituals as no one in neighbourhood is coming forward for his help. ASI Sukhbir along with Ct Pardeep reached the spot and met with Laxman Tiwari, who informed that his wife is COVID-19 patients and already admitted in Burari Govt. hospital for her treatment. Yesterday in the night his both mother Bimla Tiwari, 67 yrs and father, 80 yrs has expired.
Police immediately liaised with hospital and Cremation Centre. Thereby, the arranged an Ambulance and both dead bodies were shifted to Nigam Bodh Ghat where Laxman Tiwari is performing the last rituals.
DWARKA DISTRICT
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONARY KIT DISTRIBUTION TO POLICE PERSONNEL EXPOSED TO THE PUBLIC
The police department in the state is under considerable pressure in light of the coronavirus pandemic. The Dwarka Police are conducting their responsibilities in the best possible way. While on duty, police personnel should take care of their health. In this regard, all police staff were briefed/ sensitized by senior officers regarding the spread of coronavirus, and also directed to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as the new wave of COVID-19 was “far more serious” issued by higher authorities. Police officers are directed to carefully observe personal safety norms like wearing masks, maintaining social distancing and hand hygiene.
In order to boost up the immunity of staff deployed as frontline carona warriors (Delhi Police staff & CPMF) at 26 border pickets of Dwarka District, a separate Covid-19 Precautionary Kit containing (Dabur Chayawanprash, Vitamin C Tablets, Kadah and Masks) was distributed by the undersigned. The Kadha/Chayawanprash will boost the immunity of police personnel, it is prepared with a mixture of small & big cardamom, cloves, ginger, turmeric, cumin seeds, liquor rice & cinnamon. Vitamin C contains Antioxidants molecules that boost the immune system. Vitamin C protects cells from harmful molecules called free radicals. This precautionary kit will not only prevent our Corona warriors from the new strain of covid-19 but also boost their morale.
These practices will motivate the other Districts/Units of Delhi Police to boost up the immunity system of police personnel.
ASSISTANCE IN CREMATION OF DECEASED LADY
Information was received at Dwarka South from H.No. B-604 Sector-07, Plot No. 21, Dwarka Apartment, Dwarka New Delhi that one lady namely Jai Matnani W/o Naresh R/o C-4, Nirmal Puri Sanatan Dharam School, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi who was Covid +ve had been passed away. On receipt of information, SHO/Dwarka South Insp. Balbir Singh constituted a team under all over supervision of worthy DCP/Dwarka with QRT Staff immediately rushed to above said address at Sec-07, Dwarka Delhi. There on enquiry, it came into notice that the lady had come to Dwarka at her brother's house and later on during treatment, she passed away at above said address. As there was nobody to take responsibility for the cremation of the dead body of deceased lady. On humanitarian ground Dwarka Police team took the responsibility of cremation of the deceased lady and the dead body was immediately shifted to the cremation ground, Sector 24, Dwarka and cremation of the dead body has been done as per Hindu rites. Dwarka District Police has shown extraordinary zeal in serving humanity.
ASSISTANCE PROVIDED IN HIRING OF AMBULANCE FOR DECEASED LADY*
In continuing this, on 24.04.21, a person namely Bhanu Prakash called SHO/Najafgarh on his mobile number and asked to provide an ambulance as his aunt Mrs. Dayawati has expired in Kalyani Hospital, Najafgarh and they wanted to shift the dead body from there to RTRM Hospital, Jaffarpur. He and other family members tried a lot to arrange an ambulance but they could not get it. After the disappointment from all sides, he had called SHO/Najafgarh and requested help as no one else is helping him. Upon which an ambulance was provided to him from Vikas Hospital, Najafgarh after Ct Bhudev personally visited the hospital and I called on Dr Vikas of Vikas Hospital. Thereafter, they could succeed in take the dead body from Kalyani Hospital to RTRM Hospital, Jaffar Pur.
On the intervening night of 24-25.04.2021, Doctor Manoj from BH Salvas Hospital was informed police that there was a pressing need for oxygen cylinders at BH Salvas Hospital for the Covid patients. The hospital had limited supply of oxygen at that time. Without wasting a minute, the staff members of PS BHD Nagar assisted hospital by tied up with refilling centre. Total 31 Oxygen Cylinders (15 from Mundka and 16 from Mayapuri) were arranged and police also ensured green corridor. The relatives of Covid patients who were in urgent need of oxygen for the survival of those patients thanked Delhi Police.
