DELHI POLICE DWARKA DISTRICT ARRESTED AN EXTORTIONIST OF RISHI SURKHPURIA GANG

New Delhi, March 19

The Delhi Police Dwarka District arrested an alleged extortionist who is related to gangster Rishiraj Lambu currently lodged in Tihar Jail. 

The accused was identified as Anil Jagbir (26) alias Monu of Rohtak in Haryana. 

DCP Dwarka Santosh Meena stated that the accused was running an extortion racket on instructions of gangster Rishiraj Lambu who was instructing him from Tihar Jail.


The Dwarka District had received a complaint that some unknown persons were giving threat to him by phone calls on the name of Gangster Rishiraj alias Lambu for extorting money from the weekly markets. The complainant initially ignored the calls however later the calls reportedly increased. 

The police mounted surveillance and traced the callers. On the basis of technical surveillance, the main accused who made the threatening calls and demanded extortion money was found to be Anil alias The police also recovered several phones used for making threatening calls and extortion demand also has been recovered from his possession. 

The police interrogation revealed that he is cousin brother of Gangster Rishiraj alias Lambu who is serving judicial custody in a MOCOCA case.  Rishiraj directed the accused to take over the weekly markets of Delhi and threaten the shopkeeprs, traders and others to extort money. 

The police are further investigating the case to trace the co accused.
