Delhi Police East District held two from Agra for cheating citizens on Remdesivir injections
New Delhi, May 17
Delhi Police East District held two from Agra in Uttra Pradesh for cheating citizens in Delhi over Remdesivir injections. Both accused are medical representatives and working in Agra.
The accused were identified as Manish and Asha Ram from Jagner in Agra district.
The police stated that, complainant Raju Sagar from Old Kondli complained with ASTS cell of police that while he was searching for Remdesivir injections, he came in contact with one Manish who provided him one vial of Remdesivir injection for Rs 40,000/- and further offered to provide five more vials in the evening at the rate of Rs. 40000/- per vial.
The police added that on receipt of the information, an inquiry was conducted which revealed that the alleged Manish is indulged in illegal sale and supply of emergency medicine Remdesivir, bypassing the rules and regulations issued by competent authorities and also committing cheating by charging exorbitant price from the relatives of corona patients.
The police swing into action and raided near LBS Hospital, Khichripur and apprehended two in a Swift desire car.
When police conducted searches, 11 more vials of Remdesivir injections recovered from their possession
The accused has been booked under Sections 420, 188 of IPC, r/w 3/7 Essential Commodities Act & 3 Epidemic Disease Act.
According to the police, the accused persons disclosed that both of them have done their B.Sc. from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar College, Agra and presently they are working as medical representative at Agra.
They further disclosed that Manish used to acquire injections from one namely Bihari, who used to meet him near SM Hospital, Agra and they used to sell these injections at higher prices to the needy ones. Investigation is in progress to arrest their remaining associates and to ascertain their involvements in any other such crime, police added.
The police seized twelve vials of Remdesivir Injections and a car used for black marker the injections.
