Delhi Police North West District arrested man from Uttar Pradesh in the Adarshnagar CA murder case.
The accused was identified as Jai Kumar Singh (22) of Nawabganj of Gonda district in UP.
DCP North West, Usha Rangnani stated the accused was previously involved in several cases of kidnapping, arms act and property offences etc. He was recently released from jail on March 6.
As per the case details, on March 16, at about 10 am, Anil Aggarwal (40) who was a chartered accountant by profession and was working in a private firm, had visited his under construction house in Adarsh Nagar, Delhi along with his wife after morning walk. When they were present at ground floor of the under construction house, one unknown person wearing helmet reached there on scooty. He parked scooty in front of his house, came inside and fired at Aggarwal and fled from the spot on the scooty. Aggarwal sustained bullet injury near his neck and he was declared brought dead in the hospital.
The Adarsh Nagar Police Station had registered a case of murder under Secy 302 of the Indian Penal Code and began investigating. Though police recorded statements of the deceased’s wife, other family members, friends and no leads were received. The concerned individuals denied of having knowing if there was enemity behind the killing.
As the police only had description of the vehicle used in the crime, they scanned hundreds of CCTV footage to spot that particular scooty. After various sources were deployed at the filed, the police received information that they noticed one white scooty having such specific mark was stolen from the Patel Nagar. The police record also verified that it was a stolen vehicle.
After mounting surveillance and checking historysheet of criminals, police zeroed in on the accused Jai Kumar. It was found that suspect Jai Singh was previously residing at Onkar Nagar of Tri Nagar. The jail record of Jai Singh was checked. In dossier and jail records, it was found that he was recently released from jail on March 6.
The officials stated that two more whereabouts of accused were found in Anand Parvat and Shastri Nagar. The police carried out a special operation in UP to hunt for the accused. However the accused smelt the arrest and changed various locations within his village to evade arrest. He kept shuttling between Delhi and UP.
The police apprehended him from Indelok in Sarai Rohilla on March 28 through technical surveillance and local intelligence.
The officials stated that during his interrogation, accused disclosed his involvement in this murder case. The scooty No. DL 10SU 1163 involved in this incident was also seized. He disclosed that he had stolen this scooty on 08.02.02021 with help of his associate Shivam from the area of Patel Nagar. He further disclosed that he had procured the firearm (pistol) from his associate and after the incident, he had returned the pistol to his associate.
The police are now hunting for the person who provided arms to the accused.
The police added that the accused used to work in a Zinc factory at Anand Parbat area but he had addicted himself in smack consuming. He started committing crimes under influence of smack and to purchase more smack. The accused was found involved in nine cases.
