DELHI POLICE SOUTH DISTRICT NAB ONE, SEIZE OVER 500 QUARTERS OF ILLICIT LIQUOR

New Delhi, March 1

The Delhi Police South District nabbed an alleged bootlegger and seized over 500 quarters of illicit liquor from him.

The police identified the accused as Sonu (37) a resident of Sagam Vihar. 

The police team working on detecting organized crime in areas of South District received information that one person was allegedly selling liquor in Neb Sarai area. The team during a raid at the said spot reportedly found one man with suspicious movements who when apprehended was found with huge quantities of illicit liquor with him. 

When the police checked the sacks he was carrying with him, they found 11 cartons containing 517 quarters of illicit liquor. 

The police have booked him under violation of Delhi Excise.  During his interrogation, the accused confessed that he had purchased the recovered illicit liquor from a person in Haryana and sold it in Neb Sarai and adjoining areas. 

The police are investigating further to trace the supplier of the liquor.
