The Delhi North East District Police arrested a dreaded criminal of infamous 'Dabbu Bittu' gang wanted under the MCOCA Act.
The police have arrested Kanwaljeet (45) alias Bittu Chopra of Maujpur days after the arrest of Chandresh who was also wanted under MCOCA Act.
DCP (North East) Sanjay Kumar Sain stated that he was involved in 40 Cases including Murder, MCOCA, Robbery, Arms Act.
The police laid a trap near Loni Golchakkar, where one person was seen arriving on his bike UP-16CF-3390 towards Transport office. When the police tried to stop him he allegedly tried to flee. However he was overpowered and apprehended by the staff.
The police recovered a sophisticated pistol with six rounds and one loaded desi katta was recovered from his exclusive possession.
The accused has been booked under the Arms Act and the case registered at Jyoti Nagar police station.
The police added that during the investigation the motorcycle he was riding was found to be stolen and a complaint of same was registered at Kalyanpuri. The accused was out on parole in a murder case of Dayalpur.
The police had arrested his younger brother of Charanjeet alias Dabbu, the alleged kingpin of Dabbu- Bittu gang. The duo were reportedly running a gang that assaulted and looted people.
