DRUG PEDDLER WITH HEROIN WORTH RS. 25 LAKHS ARRESTED

New Delhi, February 23

The Anti-Narcotic Cell of South East District has arrested one drug peddler who was allegedly had 300 grams of heroine of worth Rs. 25 lacs in his possession.

The accused was identified as Shakeel Ahmed (24) of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh.

The anti narcotics cell had received information that some persons are going to allegedly transact contraband in Taimurnagar area of the city. 

The team under supervision of senior officials, laid down a trap on CV Raman Marg of Kalindi Colony in the area of New Friends Colony Delhi. Two constables in the team reportedly saw one man carrying a white bag was coming from Taimoor Nagar. The said boy was signalled to stop but he tried to flee away. The boy was caught after a short chase and apprehended by the team. 

The officials said that during the interrogation accused Shakeel Ahmed disclosed that he got in touch with one Taju and Rubail, who were engaged in supply of heroin in the area of Taimoor Nagar. After the duo were arrested in the NDPS Act, the accused joined hands with Taju's mother after that he joined hands with Taju's mother and started working for her in supply of the contraband. 

The officials added that on February 23, he was allegedly going to Nizamuddin Basti to supply the heroin.

The police added that he is a school drop out and got into drug peddling however no previous involvement has been found against him.

The accused has been booked the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
