New Delhi, June 21
The Enforcement Directorate raided eight locations in Telangana linked to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy and his brother Gudem Madhusudan Reddy in a money laundering case related to illegal mining.
The federal agency raided eight locations, including in Hyderabad, where the proceeds of crime are around Rs 300 crore.
The searches were conducted at the residence of Mahipal Reddy, who is the MLA from Patancheru constituency in Sangareddy district. Bharat Rashtra Samithi is the party of Telangana former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
The premises of a quarrying company linked to Madhusudan Reddy were also searched. Madhusudan Reddy was arrested in March as part of the investigation into the matter.
The money laundering case stems from a First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the Telangana Police in an alleged illegal mining.
