Father hacked to death on his daughter's wedding in UP only over a wrong choice of song played

Father of the daughter was beaten up to death by his own brother-in-law and others for playing a wrong song

New Delhi, May 2

The father of a bride was allegedly killed by his brother-in-law and a few others on the occasion of his daughter’s wedding in Agra district of UP following an argument over a song that was being played by the band hired for the function.

The victim was identified as Ram Baran Singh (57). 

The police stated that his daughter Madhu got married and the family members were making arrangements for her farewell. Baran’s brother-in-law, Raju Singh, his son and four nephews allegedly attacked the victim with iron rods and stones. They attacked those who came forward to rescue the victim as well.  The accused fled from the spot after the incident. 

The police added that Raju had an altercation with Baran over playing a particular song by the band during the wedding. The family members intervened and controlled the situation however Raju came back with his son Sunil and nephews Sachin, Pushpendra, Ranjit, and Vijay and attacked the father next morning. 

The victim was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. 

The police have lodged a case of murder and other charges against the five accused and formed teams to arrest them.
