Karnataka Police's former DGP murdered by wife at his home in Bengaluru

In a tragic incident, Former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was killed by his wife in Bengaluru. The police have taken his wife and daughter in custody. 

His wife, Pallavi, who is now the prime accused in the case, had been battling schizophrenia for the past 12 years and was undergoing treatment.

His son, Kartikesh, claimed that his mother, Pallavi, was suffering from severe mental health issues.

The family claimed that Pallavi frequently expressed fear, claiming her husband might harm her, and she also alleged that her husband brandished a gun to threaten her on multiple occasions. they further claimed that she often remained in a delusional state, imagining things and getting anxious over baseless thoughts.

The police found multiple stab injuries were found on Om Prakash's stomach and neck. His body was lying in a pool of blood when the police arrived at the scene. 

The former top cop lived on the ground floor of his three-storey house in Bengaluru's HSR Layout.

Om Prakash, a native of Champraran district in Bihar was an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1981-batch. He was appointed Director General of Police in March 2015. Before that, he also headed Fire and Emergency Services, and Home Guards.
