Lawyer clash inside Ghaziabad court, police book three lawyers and others for rioting, assault

Lawyers allegedly clashed inside a courtroom in Ghaziabad district court following an altercation with a judge.

Several videos of the incident appeared on social media that show police personnel hitting advocates with laathis inside the jam packed courtroom.

The police stated that the incident took place around 11.30 am when a matter related to an anticipatory bail plea was being heard by a district judge in the presence of several lawyers.

It has come to the fore that a counsel demanded that the case be transferred from the judge’s court. However, when the district judge denied the application, the lawyers got aggressive and tried to enter his chamber. The police personnel intervened and escorted him safely to his cabin. 

The lawyers however vandalised the courtroom, broke chairs and tables. In one such video a chair was seen flying in the air during the heat of the moment.

The police stated that after the initial probe it was found that advocates Nahar Singh Yadav, Aurangzeb Khan, Bilal Ahmed and Abhishek Yadav – Bar Association former president and a Samajwadi Party leader along with their colleagues attempted to assault the judge. 

The police have booked advocates Nahar, Abhishek, Dinesh and other 40 to 50 unidentified people on charges of stone pelting, obstructing government work as well as vandalising and setting ablaze the police station.
