Man shot dead in Ghazipur flower market in East Delhi over monetary dispute

Two groups fought with each other and one fired on another resulting in gunshot injury to one Rohit (32)

New Delhi, March 10

A man was shot dead in the Ghazipur flower market in the early hours of Monday allegedly due to a rivalry between two sparring groups of the area.

The deceased was identified as Rohit (32). The bereaved family sat in protest on the Delhi-Ghaziabad highway, causing traffic disruption for some time.

The police were informed through a MLC was received from the Lal Bahadur Shahstri hospital in the early hours of March 10 of a man with a gunshot injury in Phool Mandi (Flower Market) area near NH24.

DCP (EAst) Abhishek Dhani stated that there was a monetary dispute between two groups resulting in firing by the accused group. Two people have been arrested and teams working to arrest the remaining.

A video of the aftermath of the murder showed a crowd having a sit-in on the NH24, halting the incoming traffic from behind.
