NIA extradicts brother of terrorist Lakhbir Landa from UAE

Tarsem Singh, the brother of Lakhbir Landa and a member of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist group, was arrested in Abu Dhabi in November 2023

New Delhi, August 10

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) extradited Tarsem Singh, a key associate of terrorist Harwinder Sandhu, alias Rinda and Lakhbir Landa, from the UAE.

Singh, the brother of Lakhbir Landa and a member of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist group, was arrested in Abu Dhabi in November 2023. He was wanted under a non-bailable warrant issued by an NIA special court and an Interpol Red Corner Notice.

The NIA stated that Singh was brought back to India on August 9 after completing the necessary extradition procedures. T

he NIA’s investigation revealed that Singh played a critical role in channelling terror funds to Rinda and Landa’s associates in India, using various methods to facilitate these transfers. Singh is involved with multiple banned terrorist organisations, including the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), BKI, and the International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF), all of which are implicated in arms smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and other criminal activities to finance their operations.

The NIA continues its investigation into Singh’s activities and the broader terror network.
