One militant gunned down in J&K as valley goes to last phase of polls

Three-four militants were in the forests around Khog village near Billawar; one terrorist was gunned down: J&K Police

New Delhi, October 1

One militant was killed on the second day of joint operations by security forces and the J&K Police in Kathua district of J&K.

The police stated that three-four militants were in the forests around Khog village near Billawar. One terrorist was gunned down. 

Two days ago, a police head constable was killed and two police officers, including a DySP and an ASI, were injured in the operation. The condition of the injured personnel is now stable. 

The area where the operation to track down the militants is in progress falls in Kathua, which along with Jammu, Samba and Udhampur districts is going to the polls in the third phase of Assembly elections on October 1.
