The Pune Police registered a case against the father and grandfather of the minor involved in the May 19 Porsche car crash in Pune, related to the abetment of suicide of a businessman's son in the city.
The complaint in this regard was registered by a man identified as DS Kature, who runs a construction business in Vadgaon Sheri area In the complaint, Kature accused one Vinay Kale of harassing his son, Shashikant Kature, who had taken a loan from the former for construction work.
Kature alleged Kale added compounding interest to the principal amount after Shashikant could not pay the loan on time. Fed up with constant harassment, Shashikant died by suicide in January this year, the police.
A case was registered against Kale under Sections 306 (abetment of suicide) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Chandannagar police station in the city.
During the investigation, the role of the juvenile's father (a builder), grandfather and three others cropped up in the suicide case.
The police have now added sections 420 (cheating) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC to the case against Vishal Agrawal and Surendra Agrawal.
The juvenile's grandfather Surendra Agrawal and father Vishal are currently in judicial custody for the alleged kidnapping and wrongful confinement of their family driver, who was pressured to tell the police that he was behind the wheels when the fatal accident took place. His mother Shivani is also in police custody for swapping blood samples in forensic tests.
The 17-year-old boy had killed two techies with his speeding Porsche car on May 19 after which the family's role in covering up the gruesome murders began.
