New Delhi, May 18
The Punjab Police issue most wanted notices for four who killed two policemen in Jagraon. The accused, all drug smugglers had shot at two assistant sub inspectors of Punjab police.
The accused identified as Jaipal Bhullar from Ferozepur, Jaspreet Singh from Kharar, Baljinder Singh from Moga and Darshan Singh from Ludhiana who are carrying cabs rewards.
The Punjab police have announced Rs. 10 lakhs on Jaipal, Rs. five lakhs on Jaspreet and Rs. two lakhs each on Baljinder and Darshan.
The police have booked them under sections 302, 307, 353, 397, 186, 34 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 25, 27 of the Arms Act.
The accused had shot at two assistant sub inspectors of Jagraon police, Bhagwan Singh and Dalwinder Singh. While Bhagwan died on the spot, Dalwinder succumbed at the hospital.
The police stated that the policemen tried to stop the car of the drug smugglers for checking when they shot at the policemen and fled. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV footage.
The policemen were laid to rest with full state honours where senior officers of Punjab police paid their last respects.
DGP Punjab had issued strict orders and officially tweeted on accused Jaipal alerting police officers in Punjab to crack down on the drug smugglers.
