Shraddha Walker Murder- Delhi Police search for human remains, conducts searches in Delhi and Gurugram

New Delhi, November 21

The Delhi Police probing Shraddha Walkar’s brutal murder case are carrying out searches in Delhi and Gurugram to find her remains.

Shraddha Walkar was killed and her body was chopped into multiple pieces allegedly by her live-n partner Aaftab Poonawala.

The police recovered bones, one of which appears to be a part of a skull, from different forest areas. It was sent for forensic examination to verification. The police are also pumping out water from a lake in Maidangarhi as it is suspected that Poonawala allegedly threw body parts into it.

At present, police have recovered 17 suspected human bones from the Mehrauli forest area.

Poonawala will also undergo a narco-analysis test on either this week.

The police also went to Gurugram, where the accused worked at a call centre, for the third consecutive day and conducted searches around DLF Phase 3 forest area and other localities as they suspect he might have dumped the murder weapon there, Walkar’s phone and body parts on his way to work.

The police took Poonawala to the apartment in Chhattarpur Pahadi flat where he allegedly killed Walkar. The investigators are also recreating the scene of crime to get more details as they have found Poonawala allegedly misleading them.

Meanwhile, police teams in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Maharashtra have been questioning hotel owners, landlords and friends about Poonawala’s behaviour, the couple’s relationship, alleged domestic violence among other things.

The matter came to light after Walkar’s family approached Mumbai Police in October to look for their daughter. It was revealed later in October that the girl was killed in May by Poonawala when the family came to Delhi searching for her.

The police are now waiting for the forensic analysis report of the bones.
