Teenagers Death in Meerut- Police probe shows that the boy killed the girl and then died by suicide

New Delhi, February 20
The death of an 18-year-old boy and 19-year-old girl who were found dead of gunshot wounds at her house in Meerut, the UP Police found out that the boy first shot the girl and then died by suicide.
The victims have been identified as Shubham (18) and Sakshi (19), both natives of Pepla village in Meerut district. Shubham, a Class 12 student, and Sakshi, a first-year degree student, belonged to the same Scheduled Caste community.
The police stated that Shubham was a friend of Sakshi’s younger brother Dhruv and frequently visited her house. The couple started dating each other however differences cropped up between them following which Shubham killed her.
Shubham’s family members, however, alleged that he had been killed by Sakshi’s father and two brothers as they did not approve of their relationship. The police had taken Sakshi’s father and two brothers into custody but later released them.
The police stated that they received information about the incident around 3 pm on February 19. While Shubham’s body with bullet wounds on the head was found on the sofa inside the house, Sakshi was found unconscious with bullet wounds on her chest. She was admitted to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her dead.
The primary investigation also showed that the girl's father Nagesh had spotted them at a place outside the village and warned Shubham but they continued to meet each other. Their relationship ended a few weeks ago and then Shubham had purchased a country-made pistol from one Sameer of the same village.
The police added that Sameer confessed that Shubham had purchased the weapon from him on February 18.
The police recovered five live cartridges from the spot and a country-made pistol from the spot. The police are ascertaining the facts on the sequence of events and recording statements of the families of both the girl and boy.
