UP ATS arrests a Gonda man from Lucknow in connection with spying for Pakistan’s ISI

New Delhi, August 3

The Uttar Pradesh Police’s Anti-Terrorist Squad arrested one from Lucknow for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The accused has been identified as Mukeem Siddiqui, alias, Arshad (21), a Gonda resident. 

The police had earlier arrested three persons identified as Mohamamd Raees, Arman Ali Sayyed and Mohammad Salman Siddiqui last month for allegedly supplying vital information about Indian military establishments to their handlers in Pakistan. Mukeem's name cropped during the interrogation of the three accused. 

The ATS had arrested Raees in Lucknow on July 16. Over a week after his arrest, the other two accused were arrested in Mumbai. 

The accused were booked under section 121 (waging, or attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war, against the Government of India) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Official Secrets Act, said police.
