UP Police arrests one in Lucknow for stalking, harassing, assaulting a woman

New Delhi, September 2
The UP Police arrested a youth in Lucknow for allegedly stalking, assaulting, and molesting a woman when she was returning home after giving tuition classes.
The complainant, who is also 20 years old, sustained some injuries in the attack but is stable, police.
The police states that the incident happened on August 30.
As per her complaint, she was returning after giving tuition classes in her neighbourhood when someone approached her on a motorcycle and asked for her phone number. The girl realised that it was the same person who had been stalking her for some days. When she confronted him, the youth attacked her before fleeing from the spot. The girl was sent to hospital after she reached home.
The police have also held two unidentified people based on the complainant’s statement that she saw two men standing nearby when the accused stopped and hit her, they fled.
The police have booked the accused under Sections 147 (rioting), 307 (attempt to murder), 354-B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code
