18th All India Police Shooting Sports Championship concludes in Indore




New Delhi, April 22
BSF won the overall championship in women and CISF in men's category at the 18th All India Police Shooting Sports Championship.

Central School of Weapons & Tactics (CSWT), Border Security Force successfully organized the 18th All India Police Shooting Sports Championship -2024. The six days event which started from 24th March at Reoti Ranges, Indore.
Mangubhai C. Patel, Governor of Madhya Pradesh was the Chief Guest during the closing ceremony.
At the onset, Alok Kumar Singh, IG CSWT & STC, Indore received and welcomed Chief Guest by putting an OG hat embroidered with BSF insignia. An impressive ceremonial Guard of Honour was also offered to him. Miss Sapna Tiwari, Special Director, Intelligence Bureau along with Rajan Sud, DIG, V T Kayarkar, DIG, Tirtha Acharya, Commandant along with BSF Officers, AIPSCB officials and team managers also lined up and were formally introduced to the chief Guest.
A march past by the police contingents of CAPFs and various state police forces was done on rhythmic marching tunes played by the BSF and Police brass band. An enthralling weapon musketry drill by the BSF Border Lions Drill Squads (BOLDs) comprising of female and male BSF Personnel and a scintillating display of canine power especially by the dogs of Indian breed while performing security duties from NTCD (National Training Centre for Dogs), Tekanpur attracted the folk.
This annual championship of CAPFs & All India Police was organised after a span of almost five years, in which shooters from the CAPFs, state and Union Territory Police forces from all over the country participated. During this six days gala meet, shooters participated and competed for excellence in this true & spirited sporting environment.
Through this competition, endeavour was to search new talent and select players who can represent the police forces as well as participate in various national and international events in the future.
Badakhana, a community feast was organised at Reoti Ranges for all Police teams at Reoti Ranges. Eagle Brass Band from BSF engrossed the audience with old and new melodies.
