21 inmates in Bhind district jail of MP injured after roof collapse

New Delhi, July 31
21 inmates of Bhind district jail n Madhya Pradesh were injured after the roof of a jail barrack collapsed due to continuous rainfall.
The jail administration rushed the injured inmates to the government hospital in Bhind. Six inmates were referred to Gwalior hospital.
The jail authorities in Bhid stated that the prisoners were sleeping at barrack no 6 and 7 of district jail when roof of barrack no 6 collapsed in wee hours.
The administration cleared the debris and rescued 21 prisoners.
The Madhya Pradesh prisons department has ordered an inquiry into the incident.
The officials said that the jail is jail is over 65 years old and its walls are in a dilapidated condition.
Around 255 inmates are lodged in the seven barracks of the jail that have a maximum capacity to house 172 prisoners.
