21st All India Police Water Sports Championship 2021 started at Wazirabad in Delhi

New Delhi, November 24

The Border Security Force (BSF) organized 21st All India Police Water Sports Championship 2021 at Delhi from November 22 under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board at Wazirabad Water Sports Club.

The Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik was the Chief Guest of the event who formally inaugurated the Championship at R K Wadhwa Parade Ground, Chhawla in the presence of DG BSF Pankaj Kumar Singh and representatives of various CAPFs and other dignitaries.  

The MoS (Home) also took salute of the impressive march past by participating contingents of CAPFs & other State/UT police organization.

During the championship, around 465 sportspersons including 33 women players of 20 teams from various Police Organizations of Central Armed Police Forces/States/UTs are participating in the competition.

The water sports games consists of three events – Kayaking, Canoeing and Rowing will be conducted as per rules and regulations laid by All India Police Sports Control Board and qualified technical officials from Indian Kayaking & Canoeing Federation & Rowing Federation at Wazirabad Water Sports Club.

Addressing the sportsmen and the gathering, MoS (Home) said that these competitions help to find talents and pave the way to compete at higher levels. 

The opening day has witnessed a spectacular synchronized and individual diving demonstration.
