BSF foils terror plot, seizes Heroin and drones in multiple seizures

In a major success against cross border terror syndicate, the BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police, recovered a substantial cache of arms, ammunition and grenades near village Bharopal of district Amritsar.
Acting on credible information of BSF Intelligence wing, a joint search operation was launched yesterday evening near village Bharopal, which led to the recovery two hand grenades, three pistols with 6 magazines, 50 live rounds.
The recovered arms, ammunition have been handed over to the police.
In another operation, BSF troops recovered pistol parts, heroin packet and a drone in three separate incidents on Punjab border.
In this case, a search operation by BSF troops was conducted in the suspected border area of Ferozepur, following an intelligence input. The troops successfully recovered a packet containing one pistol body (without slide) with two magazines from a farming field adjacent to village Lakha Singh Wala Hither in Ferozepur district. n
In the second incident today, based on the information of BSF intelligence wing, a search operation was launched by BSF troops in a suspected area, the party recovered one packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 550 Grams) from a farming field adjacent to village- Mahawa of district Amritsar. The packet was wrapped with white cotton cloth and an improvised loop with two illuminating strips were found attached to it.
In yet another incident today, a joint search operation by BSF in collaboration with Punjab Police was conducted on the basis of information provided by the BSF intelligence wing. The search culminated in the recovery of one DJI AIR 3 S drone from a farming field adjacent to village- Mehdipur of district Tarn Taran.
In continuation of its operational success, the BSF, in last 24 hours, recovered three consignments of suspected heroin in the border area of Punjab, consequent upon extensive search operations based on specific informations from BSF intelligence set up.
A search operation yesterday evening, culminated in the recovery of one packet of suspected heroin weighing 575 grams, from a farming field adjacent to village- Gatti Rajoke of Ferozepur.
In another search operation yesterday evening, based on an input by BSF intelligence wing, BSF in collaboration with CI Jalalabad recovered one packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight-568 Grams)* from a farming field adjacent to village- Dhani Foola Singh of district Fazilka.
At about 08:10 am, on receiving reliable information about a suspected packet on Amritsar border, an extensive search by BSF troops led to the recovery of one packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 580 Grams) from a farming field adjacent to village- Mahawa of district Amritsar, officials said.
All the recovered packets of suspected heroin were found wrapped with adhesive tape along with improvised loop and illumination sticks attached, indicating as drone droppings, officials further said.
The BSF added two more Pakistani drones to its seizure haul. Theses recoveries were made in the border area of district Gurdaspur and Amritsar.
Based on an input, a search operation by the BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police resulted in the recovery of one Drone (DJI Mavic 3 Classic) from a farming field nearby village - Shahur Kalan in district Gurdaspur.
At about 09:45 am, the BSF troops recovered ome more DJI Mavic 3 classic drone, from a farming field adjacent to village- Bhaini Rajputana of district Amritsar, officials further added.
These drones are presumed to have crashed due to technical interference of technical counter measures deployed on the border. Robust technical counter measures deployed on border and diligent efforts of BSF with Punjab Police successfully thwarted these illicit drone intrusion attempts from across the border, BSF noted.
