Assam home department issues travel advisory to Assam citizens not to travel to Mizoram
New Delhi, July 30
The Assam home department has issued an advisory to its citizens advising not to travel to Mizoram.
The advisory issued by Commissioner and Secretary to the Assam Government, MS Mannivanna stated that skirmishes are being observed at three districts of Cachar, Karimganj and Hailakandi.
The latest skirmish was witnessed on July 26 in the cachar district where civilians and policemen were injured in firing. Six policemen from Assam police were also killed.
The advisory also mentioned that people are advised not to travel to Mizoram to ensure public life is not put in danger. However those from Assam staying in Mizoram for work have been to take utmost caution.
