Body of a woman found in pubic toilet in Northwest Delhi, police nab accused through body tattoes and phone call

New Delhi, February 24
A young woman's body was found dumped and hidden in a jute bag at a toilet in northwest district of Delhi. The body was spotted by a passerby who saw a leg outside the bag.
The woman was later identified as Nandani alias Kallo, a resident of Gur Mandi in Model Town.
The police cracked the case with the help of CCTV cameras at the scene, tattoos found on the forearm of the woman, and details of a phone call.
DCP (Northwest), Bhisham Singh stated that after checking CCTV footage, a man could be seen placing the jute bag at the location. The investigators found six tattooes on her forearm including one of her former husband. He was made to join the investigation.
The police then found that the woman had married again; she had contacted her current husband, asking for money. He too was made to join the probe. When police questioned the woman’s husband, he said his wife called him from an unknown number.
The police then traced this number; it belonged to a man identified as Keshav Prasad (50) who worked as a labourer at Azadpur Mandi. His phone’s location matched where the body was found. Prasad was trying to escape to Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh in search of a safe hideout when police team grabbed him.
DCP Singh added that the accused was heading home from work when he met the woman near the Azadpur flyover. They both came to his jhuggi and had a meal together. He allegedly tried to get intimate with the woman when she asked for Rs 10,000. The two then got into an argument. Prasad strangled Nandani and then put the body in a jute bag and threw it in a public toilet.
