New Delhi, January 29

In a landmark move towards strengthening women's representation and operational capability, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is set to establish its first Mahila (Women) Reserve Battalion in Nuh, Haryana.

The initiative follows the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) approval on November 11, 2024, for the creation of 1,025 posts for this purpose.

The CISF states that the Government of Haryana has allocated a 50-acre land parcel in Nuh, which was assessed by CISF and deemed suitable for the establishment of the mahila battalion. Subsequently, the proposal for approval of the key location plan was submitted to the MHA and received its clearance on January 24, 2025.

The Delhi NCR region, includes major CISF units such as:

Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI)
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC)
Parliament House Complex
Central Government Building Security

These units are often in need of additional deployment of women personnel, especially during high-alert situations. The upcoming Jewar International Airport is also expected to amplify the demand for women personnel.

The officials further said that the establishment of the Mahila Battalion in Nuh is both cost-effective and operationally viable, ensuring that CISF can deploy trained personnel promptly to meet the requirements of its NCR-based units. The battalion will be equipped with modern security gadgets for policing needs.

Additionally, CISF has recently acquired a separate land parcel at Village Indri, Nuh, Haryana, with the approval of MHA, for the relocation of its 1st Reserve Battalion, currently based temporarily at Barwaha, Madhya Pradesh. The proximity of the two battalions will significantly bolster CISF's operational capacity in addressing the needs of its sensitive units in the Delhi NCR region.

This dual establishment of the 1st Reserve Battalion and the Mahila Reserve Battalion at adjacent locations in Nuh will not only streamline operations but also enhance the readiness and efficiency, officials further stated.
