Kerala woman police official hacked to death by husband

Divyasree and her husband, Rajesh, were separated due to a family feud and she was living at her parents’ place : Police

New Delhi, November 22

A female police officer was hacked to death by her husband in Kerala’s Kannur district. 

The deceased was identified as Divyasree, was a Civil Police Officer (CPO) at the Chandera Police Station, in Kasargod district.

The police said that Divyasree and her husband, Rajesh, were separated due to a family feud and she was living at her parents’ place. Rajesh went to her home at around 5.45 pm and began attacking her. He also poured petrol on her and set her on fire. Divyasree’s father Vasu, who tried to stop Rajesh’s attack on Divyasree, also suffered serious injuries.

Divyasree and Vasu both were rushed to the hospital, but Divyasree died enroute. Vasu is said to be in a critical condition at Pariyaram Government Medical College Hospital, police added. 

The police stated that Rajesh was tracked down and arrested him.
