Delhi Crime Branch arrests seven associates of of UK gangster Kapil Sangwan

The accused were involved in Panchkula triple murder and plotting to murder a rival gang member and attack on a businessman on the instructions of Kapil Sangwan

New Delhi, January 6

The Delhi Crime Branch arrested seven members of the Kapil Sangwan Gang, including someone involved in the Panchkula triple murder, from Burari. 

The accused have been identified as Parmod aka Modi (43), Jitesh aka Jitu (24), Suraj (24), Anil Rathi (21), Sunil aka Sonu (35), Sachin aka Nitin aka Mota aka Devender (33), and Deshant Sharma alias Golu (27)  

The crime branch states that they were allegedly plotting to murder a rival gang member and attack on a businessman on the instructions of Kapil Sangwan wanted fugitive based in UK. 

Acting on an intel that a few criminals were reportedly operating from a safe house in Burari and were armed with illegal firearms, a special operation was launched. 

The crime branch laid a trap and intercepted a car carrying three suspects: Suraj, Jitesh and Anil. The officials stated that they initially, they tried to mislead the police but, on sustained questioning, admitted their connection to the gang and revealed the location of their safe house. 

Thr police then raided a rented flat in the area the same day, arresting three more gang members: Parmod, Sunil and Sachin. Additionally, Deshant was arrested when he arrived during the raid.

The team recovered five semi-automatic pistols, 13 live cartridges, a country-made pistol with two live cartridges and a button-actuated knife from their possession along with Rs 2 lakh in cash. 

The crime branch informed the gang was planning the murder of rivals, intimidate businessmen and expand their control. Parmod, a life convict who jumped parole last year, is the brother of another notorious gangster, Vicky Sanyashi. The brothers had committed a murder in 2011 in the Palam village area. Pramod had been in contact with Kapil Sangwan and started working on his instance.

Deshant was the recruiter of the gang and hired Jitesh, Suraj, and Anil – who lack any criminal background – for the task, officials further added.
