Delhi Crime Branch busted a gang from Gujarat who committed daylight dacoity of Rs. 1.21 crores at gunpoint

New Delhi, August 12

The Delhi Crime Branch arrested three dacoits who had recently committed broad daylight dacoity of cash of Rs.1.21 crores from Said-ul-Ajaib in Saket. 

The accused were identified as Prakash alias Baka, Harsh alias Sunny from Vatva Ahmedabad and Sahil Patel from Gandhinagar presently residing in Chandani Chowk. 

As per the case details, on August 6, Shankey Sharma filed a complaint with police that four to five men barged into his house and at gunpoint robbed Rs. 32 lakhs  from his flat at Parivartan Apartment, Said-ul-Ajaib. 

The police kater found out that the  actual amount was Rs. 1.21 crore. 

During the course of investigation, the team developed information regarding gangs of similar modus operandi. Technical surveillance was also mounted on suspects, CCTV footages were collected and analysed. The team took clues from CCTV footages and one Innova car bearing registration number of Gujarat was seen in the footage near the spot in which two persons carrying bags were sitting. 

The cime branch team reached Ahmedabad and identified a gang of robbers, all residents of Ahmedabad, had committed this dacoity. The crime branch learnt that Jagdish alias Jaggu gang was involved in this daring daylight dacoity. 

The agency received tip off that some of the gang members of Jaggu gang were going to Varanasi, UP from Ahmedabad, the team reached at Varansi railway station and located the accused persons. 

The accused tried to flee however were  overpowered. 

During interrogation, they confessed their involvement in the dacoity and further disclosed that delivery boy Sahil Patel passed the information about huge cash in that Flat. The police party immediately apprehend the accused Sahil Patel from his house at Chandni Chowk, Delhi. 

The crime branch conducted raids at Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Jaipur, Nathdwara, Bharatpur, Ratlam, Varanasi and Delhi in search of culprits and travelled around 5000 kms. within a span of four days.  

According to the crime branch Jagdish, Nikhal, Amit and Raj Kumar came to Delhi on July 17 in an Innova car and met with Sahil Patel, brother-in-law of Jagdish. Sahil Patel works at Chandni Chock with one Angadiya. On August 2, Sahil Patel informed them that he was going to Saket, Delhi, to deliver an amount of Rs. 53 lakhs and also passed address of Parivartan Apartment, Saket to them. Accordingly, accused reached at the spot and followed Sahil Patel. Sahil Patel delivered the amount and left the place. 

At time, another person also delivered cash amounting to Rs. 68 lakhs to the complainant.  Prakash and Sunny along with their associates robbed the entire amount Rs. 1.21 crores on gun point and fled to Ahmedabad.
