Delhi EOW held one from Rohini for manufacturing and selling spurious Alumnium Phosphide

New Delhi, July 29

Delhi EOW held one who was selling spurious Alumnium Phosphide in the name of brand "Quickphos" in the city.

The EOW raided wt Siraspur village and arrested accused Atul Singhal of Rohini who was allegedly selling the banned chemical.

The EOW had received a complain M/s UPL Limited - the manufacturer of agro chemicals including Quickphos in India. Singhal was allegedly manufacturing/stocking/selling of counterfeit product fumigant-insecticide Aluminium Phosphide in the brand name of “Quickphos” in Delhi. 

During the search, the recovered counterfeit articles bearing the falsified trademark of the complainant company i.e “Quickphos” included 355 Kg of metallic packaging tubes, 28.6 Kg of metallic lid covers, 15.2 Kg of Plastic caps, 330 empty metallic containers and 35 filled metallic containers of spurious Aluminium Phosphide.

The EOW said that the packaging and stocking of the counterfeit fumigant-insecticide Aluminium Phosphide in the brand name “Quick Phos” was similar to “Quickphose” - the brand name of the complainant company in violation of its Copy Rights and Trade Mark Rights.

WORDS OF CAUTION FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC:

The traders and businessmen are cautioned not to deal with the similar looking brand names as they are having spurious material - illegally manufactured and sold in violation of the rights of the authorized entities. This may also cause legal hardships to them. It further encourages the offenders for violation of the provisions of Trade Mark Act and Copy Right Act. A common man purchasing any goods from anywhere must take proper precautions as the counterfeit product may contain hazardous material which may result in serious consequences.
