Delhi Police arrest notorious businessman for threatening and extortion

Delhi Police arrest notorious businessman turned criminal for extortion of Rs. 40 lakhs from his client in connivance with his driver. The driver impersonated as "Sonu" criminal and made extortion calls.
The Sarai Rohilla police station had received a complaint in July from a woman alleging that one Sonu is demanding Rs 40 Lakhs from her husband on behalf of a plastic factory owned by Saurabh Aggarwal.
During the course of enquiry, the police learnt that father of accused Saurabh Aggrawal, Late Sagar Kumar Aggrawal from Pritampura was having business with the complainant Pradeep Gupta.
DCP (North) Anto Alphonse stated that on the pretext of this business differences, accused Saurabh in connivance with his driver namely Pokarmal Soran hatched a conspiracy to demand a sum of Rs 40 Lakhs from his client Pradeep Gupta. The accused further agreed to distribute 75% & 25 % of retrieved demanded money from Pradeep Gupta.
The police said that Pokarmal Soran impersonified himself as Sonu Criminal and threatened Pradeep for dire consequences if not paid Rs 40 Lakhs to Mr Saurabh.
The officials added that on August 4, the employee Pokarmal Soran along with his two villagers Mahaveer and Shiv Singh, who were armed with one deshi katta came to Shastri Nagar at the residence of the complainant namely Pradeep. The victim family immediately informed about suspect to police. The police nabbed one of the accused identified as Pokarmal Soran whereas others two villagers were narrowly escaped. The police then zeroed in mastermind Saurabh Gupta.
The accused have been booked under sections 387/ 506/120B/34 IPC and 25/27 Arms Act.
According to the police, father of Saurabh Gupta was having business transaction with Pradeep Gupta before 2010. Now the accused Saurabh Aggarwal is in debt trapped and wanted to extort money from Pardeep Gupta on the pretext of previous business transactions.
The other accused Pokarmal Soran, who is driver of the owner for last three years assured that Rs. 40 lacs will be extorted, if threatened him. In this way he arranged one country made pistol and call his friends from his villege to execute the conspiracy.
The police are now gearing up to track down Aggarwal's associates.
