DELHI POLICE ARREST ONE IN THE MURDER OF YOUTUBER DALBIR

New Delhi, February 22

The youtuber Dalbir's mysterious murder was resolved with the arrest of his nephew. The nephew who was allegedly being threatened to pay money or lose out on his marrige with the Delhi girl hatched the youtuber reporter's murder. 

The accused was identified as Gurmeet (22) who was going to get married on February 28 in Uttamnagar. Dalbir was allegedly threatening the former to call off his marriage with his fiancee or give demanded money to him. 

As per the police details, on February 17, the police had recieved a call about an I jured man lying on the road with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the Venkateshwara Hospital however was declared brought dead. The identity of the body was later revealed as Dalbir. 

DCP Dwarka Santosh Kumar Meena stated that Dalbir worked as a Youtuber for a local news channel. After questioning his family, friends, the police found that Gurmeet was suspected to be behind the murder. 

Extensive searches were conducted in Karnal and Dharonda of Haryana however he wasn't found. He was later arrested from Qutub Vihar in Delhi. The police also recovered a loaded pistol from him. 

Elaborating further the officials said Gurmeet came to Delhi on February 16 and he was riding a pillion with Dalbir in Bharat Vihar. Gurmeet allegedly shot Dalbir point blank range on the night of the incident. 

The police found out that Dalbir was allegedly demanding money from Gurmeet to marry his fiance and threatened to call off the marriage with her. 

According to the police, the interrogation of the accused revealed that Gurmeet works as a labour in Karnal. Two months ago he was engaged to a girl from Bharat Vihar in Delhi reportedly arranged by the deceased Dalbir who is also his maternal uncle. 

He told police that Dalbir had been reportedly demanding money from him. Though he arranged money and paid Rs. 10,000 yet he continued asking for more. 

Dalbir had allegedly began threatening Gurmeet that if he did not give him money he will break his engagement, police said. 

The police added that on the fateful day, Gurmeet called Dalbir to meet and executed the murder by allegedly shooting at point blank range. 

The police also recovered blood stained clothes of the victim, his shoes, bag and the empty cartridge from the accused.
