Delhi Police arrested a police constable, associates for kidnapping and killing a man from Kondli

New Delhi, July 30
The Delhi Police arrested a police constable and his associate who had allegedly abducted a man and beaten him to death in New Ashok Nagar.
The victim, identified as Ajeet Kumar, was allegedly picked up by four men — constable Monu Sirohi, Vikas, Vineet and Harish – in a car on June 4, after a fight over parking in their area.
The police said the accused allegedly beat him to death and dumped his body in a canal. The body has still not been found.
The Delhi Police East District has dismissed constable Sirohi from service while they shunted out SHO Pramod Kumar to district lines for causing delay in registration of FIR in the case.
The police had registered FIR a month after the incident on July.
As per the case details, the police found a video of the incident, which purportedly shows four men beating up two people — Kumar and his friend Atul by the roadside. The victims are then dragged into a car. While Atul manages to run and save himself, Kumar is thrashed by the accused.
Kumar used to sell fruits and flowers near his house in Kondli. The family registered a missing person's complaint on June 13 while the family had gone to register complaint of abduction on that day after learning that he was kidnapped by four men.
