The Delhi Police arrested two men fired more than 20 rounds at a car showroom in Tilak Nagar area who was also wanted in Kolkata. This is the second arrest in the case while first was done by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.
The accused arrested from Kolkata was identified as Mohit Ridahu in Kolkata who was termed as the main accused in the case..
The accused allegedly left a note mentioning their names along with those of gangsters Bali and Bawana with the security guard. The police later questioned Bali and Bawana at Tihar jail in connection with the incident.
As per the case details, the incident took place at the Fusion Cars showroom in Ganesh Nagar, Tilak Nagar, on May 6. Over 20 shots were fired, some of which hit the glass door on the ground floor and glass panes on the first floor of the building. Seven people sustained injuries after the glass shattered and are undergoing treatment.
The Delhi Crime Branch traced Ridahu's location after finding his logistic details and shared information with the Kolkata police, who arrested him. The police also recovered some illegal weapons from his possession.
According to the crime branch, Ridahu was identified with the help of CCTV footage which shows he along with another accused entered the showroom and started opening fire while exiting. They allegedly escaped on a motorcycle after the shooting.
During initial questioning, the police found that Ridahu was asked to go to Bangladesh and then to California, US.
The Special Cell and Delhi Crime Branch both have been working on the firing case. The Special Cell first arrested the accused was identified as Himanshu Bhau, a member of Neeraj Bawana-Rahul Bali-Devendra Bambiha gang and operates his syndicate from the US, later made an extortion call and demanded Rs 5 crore from the showroom owner.
