Delhi Police held a taxi driver in National Conference leader Trilochan Singh Wazir's murder

New Delhi, September 15
The Delhi Police arrested two from Jammu in the death case of former member of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Council and National Conference leader Trilochan Singh Wazir's murder.
Wazir (67) was found dead inside an apartment in Basai Darapur in Delhi.
The police have identified the accused as Rajender Chaudhary alias Raju who works as taxi driver in Mumbai. The two main suspects — transporter Harmeet Singh and Wazir's friend Harpreet Singh Khalsa are on the run.
As per the case details, Wazir had come to Delhi on September 2 to catch a flight to Canada but was allegedly shot dead inside an apartment. His decomposing body was found on September 9.
One of the suspects, Singh had written a letter and posted on Facebook where he claimed he had killed Wazir because contract killers had been hired to target him and his son. He also claimed he and the other suspect, Khalsa, were going to commit suicide. The police, however, couldn't catch him as he switched off his phone soon after posting the letter.
Raju works as a taxi driver in Mumbai and has alleged that Khalsa and Singh killed Wazir to take revenge.
During initial questioning, Raju told the police that Khalsa is his friend and called him weeks back on the pretext of offering him a job.
In a twisted tale of revenge, it has come to the fore that Khalsa wanted to avenge his uncle's death. His uncle was allegedly murdered in 1980s and Khalsa susoected Wazir was behind the murder. Raju told police that Khalsa and Singh first spiked Wazir's food, when he fell unconscious, they shot him in the head.
Raju also said that he didn't kill Wazir but was present inside the house. On September 1, Khalsa asked him to bring Wazir from Jammu to Khalsa's apartment.
The police added that Raju has disclosed presence of the fourth person in the apartment where Wazir was killed identified as Billa. He was also present at the time of the murder.
The police added that Raju's confessions are being verified.
The Delhi police teams are camping in Jammu, Haryana and Punjab to nab the absconding accused.
