Delhi Police issues notification on 'complete ban' of sale and use of firecrackers in Delhi till January 1

The Delhi Police Licensing Unit in a notification regarding sale of firecrackers has put a 'complete ban' on sale of firecrackers in the city.
The notification stated that the DPCC (Delhi Police Control Committee) via order September 28 has imposed a complete ban on sale and bursting of all kind of firecrackers in the territory of NCT Delhi upto January 1, 2022.
The order has been viewed keeping in view of another surge of Covid 19 cases, severe AQI index, which can aggravate chronic health conditions of citizens in Delhi and various orders of Supreme Court and NGT (National Green Tribunal).
The order issued by DCP (Licensing Unit), Guriqbal Singh Sidhu stated, "For ensuring compliance of DPCC's order, Delhi Police is not issuing any temporary license for storage or sale of firecrackers this festival season. The permanent firecrackers lice ses have already been suspended and lice se holders have been advised not to sell firecrackers til January 1, 2022".
It further stated, "The field functionaries have been told to ensure prohibition on sale and bursting of firecrackers. Appropriate legal action will be entailed in case any violation of the statutory order is observed till January 1, 2022. Citizens of Delhi are requested to comply with the court order in larger interest of people of Delhi".
The sale and bursting of firecrackers have been banned till January 1, 2022.
