Delhi Police makes over 34000 preventive arrests, registers 1000 MCC violation cases
Multiple check points, vehicle checking and frisking led to cash seizure of Rs. 11.60lakhs
New Delhi, February 5
The Delhi Police took extensive steps for overall preparedness before assembly elections. These elections, the Delhi Police broke record of registering over 1000 cases of violation of Model Code of Conduct.
1,092 cases of violation of Model Code of Conduct were registered. As many as 34, 746 persons were arrested under provisions of preventive action and other acts
The police seized 475 unlicensed arms-475 and 534 cartridges and arrested 496 persons in these cases.
The drives across the national capital led to seizure of 1,14,211.87 litres of liquor and arrest of 1404 persons.
The police teams seized 196.602 kgs of narcotics worth more than Rs. 77.9 crores and held 177 accused.
Multiple check points, vehicle checking and frisking led to cash seizure of Rs. 11.60lakhs.
The police also seized 0.850 Kg gold and 37.396 kgs of silver.
