Delhi Police Special Cell busted an interstate arms trafficking network

Delhi Police Special Cell busted an interstate arms trafficking network and held on arms trafficker of Bharatpur in Rajasthan.
The accused was identified as Ishab Aashu from Bharatpurof Mewat Region (Rajasthan).
DCP (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwaha stated that the accused sourced arms and ammunitions from MP and supplied In Delhi NCR, Haryana & UP West.
The police seized 15 semi-automatic pistols of .32 bore and 30 live cartridges from him.
The special cell officials added that he has been involved in arms trafficking in Delhi NCR, Haryana & UP West for the last three to four years. He was getting supply of arms and ammunition from arms manufacturer of District Khargone and the adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh.
Acting on a specific input that about the illegal activities of arms trafficking by Ishab in connivance with their other associates, the special cell began an operation to arrest the accused. Eshan was surveilled upon to develop the information about them and other members of this syndicate.
After two months of investigation on him, the police got that he was going to come near Modi Flyover on Mathura Road to deliver the supply of firearms and ammunition to one his Delhi based contact.
The special cell laid a trap and at about 5.30 PM, a suspicious person carrying a bag on his shoulder was spotted coming arriving at the flyover from Sarita Vihar side. He was identified as Ishab by the informer. After waiting for about 10-15 minutes, he started walking towards Ashram Chowk. However, before he could flee from there, he was surrounded and overpowered by the team after a brief scuffle.
According to the police, Ishab has disclosed that he had received the supply of recovered pistols and cartridges from a notorious illegal arms manufacturer of Khargone in MP. He has further disclosed that he has been indulging in the supply of illegal firearms and ammunition in Delhi NCR, Haryana and UP West. He has also disclosed that he was lured by a person of an adjoining village to join his arms trafficking syndicate about 3 years back.
Initially Ishab worked as his courier for about 2 years but subsequently he developed his own network of arms trafficking. He used to get a pistol from MP for a sum of about Rs. 10 to 12, 000/- and he used to further supply it for Rs. 20,000/- to his other counterparts in Delhi, who used to further sell it for Rs. 30 to 40,000/- to the gangsters and hardcore criminals in Delhi NCR and adjoining states of UP and Haryana.
Ishab, it has been revealed that he has already supplied more than 500 firearms in Delhi NCR in the last three years, officials added.
The agency is further interrogating the accused to bust his syndicate. The accused has been booked under the Arms Act.
