The Delhi Police Special Cell seized 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of marijuana worth over Rs 5,000 crore in the international market busting an international module.
Additional CP (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwaha stated that the Special Cell raided a godown of a publishing house in South Delhi’s Mahipalpur on October 2 and arrested four men, and seized the consignment. The drugs are worth Rs 5,000 crore in the international market.
The main accused has been identified as Tushar Goel, owner of Tushar Publications and Tulip Publi-cations and a resident of Vasant Vihar. He owns the godown where the drugs were seized. Goel’s handlers are based in the Middle East. He was the main distributor in Delhi.
Kushwahah added, “A narco-terror angle is also being probed. The cocaine came from Southern American countries via the Middle East, while the marijuana came from Thailand. They were then transported from various states to Delhi”.
The Special Cell identified the other accused as Auranzeb Siddiqui (23), Himanshu Kumar (27), who oversaw the distribution in Delhi-NCR, and Bharat Jain (48), who was to distribute the drugs in Mumbai.
Auranzeb was Goel’s driver and hails from Deoria, UP. He and Himanshu, Goel’s long-time associate, were going to sell the drugs across NCR.
Auranzeb studied till class 11 and came to Delhi in search of work. In 2017, he started working for the Goel household as a driver. He grew close to Goel and started chauffeuring him personally and became involved in his illegal activities.
Himanshu, from Suleiman Nagar in Delhi, started working as a bouncer and personal bodyguard in 2014. He came in touch with Goel, who offered him a chance to assist him in drug-related activities. Bharat arrived in Delhi from Kurla to receive a 15-kg cocaine consignment and distribute it in Mumbai. The payment of the consignment was done in USDT (Ether) to avoid it being tracked, officials added.
