Delhi Police start 'Parhit' welfare scheme for serving and retired policemen, kin

The Delhi Police start 'Parhit' welfare scheme for serving and retired policemen of Delhi Police and their families.

Delhi CP Rakesh Asthana announced several welfare schemes for serving and retired personnel and their families in a ceremony ‘PARHIT’.

Continuing with fresh beneficial measures for police families the CP Delhi launched the revamped website of Welfare Wing. 

The refurbished website link offers welfare related information and solutions i.e Jobs on Compassionate Ground, Delhi Police Welfare Scheme (DPWS), DPMF, Health & Wellness, Mess booking facility, PFED facilities etc. Besides, all the documents including ID-Card, Pension Payment Order, Discharge Certificate and Senior Citizen Card of the retirees will now be provided on Digi-Locker, so that these documents remain secure and handy with all our ex-personnel.  

Speaking on the occasion, Delhi CP underlined that Delhi Police is like a family and retirees or kin of personnel who have made supreme sacrifice while in the line of duty should not feel separated at any point of time. It is also the duty of every serving personnel to comfort our ex-personnel and make sure that their grievances do not remain unaddressed. 

The CP Delhi further assured that Open House redressal facility can be availed by retirees and kin of departed personnel too. If a personnel is not relaxed at family front, s/he cannot work in a focused way; while a motivated police person is more efficient and effective in discharging duty.

He commended the efforts of newly established Welfare Unit for developing an institutionalized mechanism for well-being of police personnel. He also lauded the contribution of stakeholders who came forward to provide monetary assistance to kin of Covid deceased among policemen and Education partners for offering economical courses for police wards preparing for competitive exams and pursuing higher studies. 

The financial aid amounting to Rs. 3 Lakh each, offered by M/s Mankind Pharma, was distributed to the families of police martyrs of Covid-19 by CP, Delhi. Welfare Unit also signed MoUs with reputed institutions like Nirman IAS Academy, Alternative Learning Systems (ALS), Drishti Academy and Pace IIT & Medical, wherein these academies have offered discounted or free courses for police wards preparing for competitive exams or higher studies. 

Digi-Locker is an online service provided by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), GoI which provides an account in cloud to every Aadhaar holder to access authentic documents/certificates. This facility has been integrated for the retirees to obtain Discharge certificate, Pension Pay order, Retirees Identity Card and Senior citizen card in digital form. 

The CP Delhi felicitated some noted resource persons Dr. Vinay Thakur and  Nirmit Mehrotra of NEGD, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MEITY), Rajeev Juneja, CEO M/s Mankind Pharma India, Abhishek Singh, Nirman IAS Academy, Manish Kumar Gautam, Alternative Learning Systems (ALS), Ajay Kiran Singh Karakoti, Drishti Academy, Sh Sandeep Singhal, Pace IIT and Medical on this occasion. 

The officers from welfare unit and districts were also honoured by the CP Delhi for their contribution in establishing various welfare mechanisms.
