Delhi Police sets up therapy centre for specially-abled children

New Delhi, January 6

The Delhi Police and Police Families Welfare Society (PFWS) set up a therapy centre “Smita” for specially-abled at PTS Malviya Nagar.

Sonal Shah, an Educationist and Social Worker graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Ritu Arora, President PFWS, Spl CP, Sh. SK Gautam, Spl CP, Sanjay Kumar were also present along with other revered guests. 

After the inauguration ceremony, the therapy centre was visited by the chief guest along with Ritu Arora, President PFWS, and other senior members. 

During her visit, the chief guest interacted with the specially-abled children.

The program started with lamp lighting. President PFWS addressed the gathering with a welcome note where she emphasized on “Smita’s” role in providing services like physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy with the help of the best therapists and standard equipment.

DCP Welfare, Kumar Gyanesh briefed the gathering about the aims, objectives, and benefits of “Smita” with the help of a presentation.

Experts from PDDUIPPD and therapist from “Prerna”, NSG Manesar were felicitated by the Hon’ble Chief Guest for their unwavering support & contribution required for the establishment of “Smita”. 

Chief Guest Smt. Sonal Shah, praised the initiative undertaken by PFWS and further stated that this effort will help in the overall development and empowerment of specially-abled children and congratulated President PFWS and her team.
