Doctor from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital held for allegedly thrashing his wife
New Delhi, October 19
The Delhi Police arrested a doctor from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for allegedly beating his wife inside their house in East of Kailash.
The doctor identified as Vineet Bhawan, is a senior anaesthetist at the hospital. His wife works as a trained graduate teacher (TGT) at a Kendriya Vidyalaya.
The police said they received a PCR call about domestic violence at the residence. The complainant is 38 years old and said her husband assaulted her.
The PCR and police teams rushed to the spot and held the doctor from his residence. The woman was taken to AIIMS.
The police said that the woman’s statement has been recorded and a case under sections of hurt and wrongful restraint has been registered.
The police are waiting for the MLC report from AIIMS Trauma Centre the understand the the nature of injuries.
