New Delhi, June 1
Facing immense anger and flak from citizens questioning the law and order in Punjab, the Punjab Government appointed IPS officer Ishwar Singh as the new ADG Law & Order.
The gruesome murder of Punjab rapper Sidhu Moosewala has left his fans in India and Canada shocked and angry citizens have expressed their displeasure towards the functioning of the present government in Punjab.
The Punjab Government in an order issued on May 31 appointed IPS Officer Ishwar Singh as the new ADG (L&O) and shifted incumbent Naresh Arora.
Ishwar Singh was serving as the chief director of the state’s Vigilance Bureau, a post that has now been handed over to Varinder Kumar, who too is a 1993-batch IPS officer and had been serving as ADGP (Jails).
The sources added that the government may transfer more officers in the top brass.
The social media is abuzz with criticism of the present state of affairs in Punjab following the audacious RPG attack on the state intelligence wing building in Mohali followed by another audacious attack on international acclaimed rapper Sidhu Moosewala.
The social media post of Canada based gangster Goldy Brar claiming responsibility of the Moosewala murder naming gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Sachin Bishnoi has chocked the citizens with the audacity of the gangsters giving open challenge to police.
While Bishnoi is lodged in Tihar Jail, Brar runs his network from Canada. Brar in a post o Facebook hours after killing Moosewala had openly accepted his role and that of Bishnoi calling the murder “an answer” to the killing of his brother last year and “act to avenge” killing of Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera. Brar had claimed that Moosewala’s first manager Shaganpreet was involved in Middukhera’s killing but police had been “shielding” Moosewala.
Brar’s post gave shockwaves to the fans of Moosewala and others who were aghast with the audacity of a gangster challenging the law and order and police department.
The citizens have been demanding death sentence for the culprits and raised serious questions on the increasing threats of gangs and gangsters in Punjab and neighbouring states.
