New Delhi, January 18
A Field Commanders Conference was held at HQ Eastern Command BSF, Kolkata to review the operational scenario on IndoBangladesh border and the emerging challenges arisen due to change in political regime in Bangladesh.
All Inspectors General and other staff officers of six BSF Frontiers including South Bengal, North Bengal, Guwahati, Meghalaya, Mizoram &
Cachar and Tripura Frontier attended the meeting.
At the outset, ADG Eastern Command appreciated the hard work and dedicated efforts made by all bordermen in controlling the trans-border crimes and infiltration.
The year has been very challenging, however, BSF in collaboration with sister agencies and counterpart BGB managed the situation in a very professional manner. A detailed discussion was held with all IsG to further strengthen the Border Security. Use of leverage of emerging technologies was stressed upon, he further stated
Besides, focus on border infrastructure was highlighted. Another highlight was close coordination with the border population. In the end conference focused on developing innovative solutions to strengthen Border Security, officials added.
