New Delhi, September 13

A four-storey building collapsed in the Sabzi Mandi area of New Delhi. Two teenagers were killed and several were trapped for hours till they were rescued with the help of fire and energy services.  a

The police said a 72-year-old man, who was also trapped under the debris, was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

As per the reports, the mishap took place at around 11:50 AM. Eight fire tenders were rushed to the incident spot near opposite Robin Cinema in Malka Ganj.

While it is yet to be ascertained what exactly caused the building collapse, officials are of the view that heavy rainfall for the last few days in the capital city could have weakened the structure of the building.

Delhi and its adjoining areas have been witnessing a downpour for the last few days, due to which several areas were reported waterlogged.
